Explore, wonder and accomplish: A Child’s Place
Open House: February 28th at 5:30 pm!
Come visit our school, meet our teachers and enjoy some fun activities from our curriculum!
Our AM Preschool program is offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and we also offer our extended lunch hour to 1pm. You pick the days that work for you! We provide a well-rounded curriculum that stresses Kindergarten readiness. We also believe that play is a child’s work. We strive to provide a stimulating, fun environment where children can play by themselves and with others in a variety of contexts. We also believe that learning how to treat each other with kindness and respect is the most important lesson children can learn. We encourage children to problem solve with each other and with us as a way to resolve conflicts non-violently. Sign language is also incorporated into the weekly lesson plans. We incorporate field trips into our curriculum and we invite community members to share with us. Traditionally, we have had the wonderful opportunity of having the Tumwater Fire Department come into our school and share the importance of fire safety. We have also taken an annual trip to the pumpkin patch each October and this year we venture out to the cider mill!
We also emphasize on social skills and peer relationships. We believe in encouraging kindness amongst each other and we teach the tools and skills needed for conflict resolution and relationships. Overall, social-emotional intelligence is a large part of our curriculum.
Come in for a visit! We have an open door policy to those families who are interested in touring our program, no appointment is necessary. We have an Open House three times during the school year which is a great way to meet our teachers and explore our school. Come see us!
